Project Brief

This logo was developed for the campaign to save The Hampton House via Chairman Fred Hampton, Jr. The Hampton House, located in Chicago, is Chairman Fred’s childhood home and of course home to Fred Hampton, Sr., deputy chairman of the national Black Panther Party. Unfortunately, this is also the home in which he was assassinated.

Going with the given concept of incorporating a house within this mark, the logo utilizes the main shape and unique elements of the actual Hampton House. Special attention was given to the top of the house as the Architecture utilizes mock crenelations which were historically used at the top of castles for defense against attack. ..speaking to it’s historic and current significance. The mark is painterly to give a sense of hand to paper intimacy as well as invoke the vibe of protest signage
