This is the 2nd year working with the Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (Siren) to create event branding. Sirens event is focused on racial health equity. The goal is to have a frank discussion of how social care research can better advance racial equity. The main objective is to apply a racial equity lens to the field of social care research, exploring questions not only about what we know about the impacts of current social care programs on racial health equity, but also about whether and how social care practice and research could be conceptualized, designed, and implemented to better advance racial health equity goals.
This concept speaks to one of the main objectives of this conference and that is connection. Te Siren team spoke of the beauty of folks from different fields coming together to create more informed data. The puzzle pieces borrow from the very first Siren design and creates a collective of researchers, policy makers, and advocates. The empty space represents the missing piece that the conference fills…how this collective fills the gap in the research.
